New Intensive Weekend Adult Art Camp on July 2018
Modeled after an Adult Art Camp that I taught at the Jung Center in Houston this 3 day intensive camp is for adults. Participants need no art experience or can be professional artists who want to focus on technique. The camp is Friday to Sunday, July 13 - 15, 2018.
The camp starts on Friday with a two hour evening. Small bites provided. You are welcome to bring beer or wine. Use this time to start experimenting with materials and techniques or come prepared with an image or images to work with. We will focus on drawing and painting. The goals of the weekend will be exploring new materials or developing a painting or drawing.
Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm work on a project of your choice or continue explorations with materials. I will do short demos of techniques that people are interested in such as drawing in layers, focus on portraits, combining colored pencils and oil paint and acrylic glazes over colored pencil. Bring a sack lunch and work through lunch or take an hour to go out for lunch. Cold brew coffee and hot tea will be provided with muffins or breakfast bars, veggies and cookies for an afternoon snack.
Sunday we'll finish up from noon to 3 pm. I will help participants work on areas they want to improve or techniques they want to learn. Coffee and tea and a treat provided.
I limit the participants to four partly because of space limitation but also because I want to provide individual attention as needed.
With the registration of $130 ($15 materials fee) you will receive some Canson Edition, hot press, cold press and watercolor papers and small ampersand claybord and wood panel plus an Ebony and carbon pencil as well as access to collage materials, colored pencils, gouache, watercolors and acrylics. Participants are welcome to bring their own favorite materials and tools and to share with the others.
