Imagined Portraits Workshop Saturday, August 4, 2018

The inspiration for and one imagined portrait of Anna Eisenberg.

This is the first time that I am offering an imagined portrait workshop inspired by my "Absence" portraits.  We will start with photographs and create multiples of portraits from the original image by changing skin tone, face shape, features and hair.

Participants will be drawing and painting on mylar.  All levels of art experience welcome.  This is a no fear technique for beginning artists and can be a freeing and inspirational technique for experienced artists.  The workshop will include mylar, access to colored pencils and acrylic paint.  Participants are welcome to bring their favorite brushes, pencils and paint. Collaged elements can be added if desired.

I will have images to work with but it is best for participants to bring portraits with them.  Working large is best so 8 x 10" to 16 x 20" are good sizes.  A good xerox copy or scanned print of the original is perfect.

You can see some examples of my imagined portraits of Lily on my website.
A book about the first 100 of three hundred imagined portraits of three women in my family can be seen on issuu.

The Imagined Portraits Workshop is on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 10 am to 4 pm. The $60 fee includes all materials.  Participants are welcome to bring a lunch or go out for lunch from noon to 1 pm. Cold brew coffee, hot tea and cookies are provided.  Slow Ride Studio is located in Midtown Area, Tallahassee, FL.

To reserved a place in the workshop please contact me at lisa@lisaqualls.com.  The fee can be paid by cash, check or paypal.
