Project #6 The Studio Practice of Eunju Kang

Eunju Kang is a contemporary artist.  She often paints objects from life.  Fruit, branches, flowers, vegetables, bowls.  Every day objects.  She plays with shadows and size, sometimes using minimal backgrounds and sometimes creating gridded patterned backgrounds.  http://www.eunjukangarts.com

Drawing or painting from life a few times a week is a great exercise to develop your observational and painting skills.  Try setting up objects and drawing or painting those objects on paper or cardboard with watercolor, goauche or acrylic.  Play around with the light and shadow by putting the objects in front of a window and or/using different lamps or clip on utility lights to create shadows and mood.

Vocabulary:  studio practice, still-life, shadows, angles, light source, natural objects, manmade objects
